Design Challenge
People with disabilities are often not represented at Flagler College. At times, there is discrimination against people with disabilities because of their attitudes and mental disorder characterisitcs. This issue leads to stereotypes and assumptions that may be false for these people.
Solution
By completing research about SOCI-ABLES, an audience persona, scrap pages, and sketches, a comprehensive campaign was developed. After review of the audience persona, developing the campaign needed to involve a serious theme around identity and society. Using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, the campaign characterized a problem-solution style that depicts the severity of mis-represention and discrimination around campus.
Project Outcome
By completing this campaign, the problems that people with disabilities felt in the Flagler College community were represented accurately. This advertisement addressed assumptions stereotypes showcasing how people with disabilities act in a different way due to the scenario showcased in the campaign. SOCI-ABLES’ advertisement campaign made people happier to be join and be existing members of the club.
