Hard Work Pays Off!

“In the time that I have known Peter Mankin, he has proven to be an outstanding individual in many regards. Peter’s commitment level, work ethic and overall attention to detail are excellent. Not only has Peter performed creatively in graphic design assignments, but he is also an outstanding project presenter – all qualities that we strive to encourage in the graphic design program here at Flagler College. I’m sure I speak on behalf of other Flagler College faculty in recommending Peter Mankin for consideration.”

“I have had the privilege of working closely with Peter on various as both an instructor for First Year Seminar, an academic advisor, and have also observed his contributions as a student worker in the Disability Resource Center. I am consistently impressed by his exemplary work ethic, determination, creativity, and commitment to learning. Peter stands out as someone who approaches every task with unwavering dedication and attention to detail. Whether it is a challenging academic assignment, a student event he is hosting, or a task for his on-campus job, he consistently goes above and beyond expectations to deliver outstanding results…In addition to his strong work ethic, he is a curious, engaged learner, who seeks opportunities to collaborate with others, to engage with his mentors, and to mentor those who come after him. This is most evident in the leadership he has provided in the creation of a new student organization, Sociables, that has been an incredible success. As the leader of Sociables, Peter collaborated with his members and many campus offices to design and host the college’s first Disability Awareness Week. Now an annual celebration and awareness raising week, it requires extensive planning, management of event logistics, and marketing, and has grown in in its success since its launch…I have no doubt that he will bring the same determination, diligence, and enthusiasm to any future project and offer this recommendation and reference without reservation.”

Dean of Academic Access and Success

“I have worked with Peter throughout his college career as a student. He has been my Student Worker for special projects since 2022. At that time, Peter took on the re-design of the new student orientation. He produced the orientation Power Point with accessible information for Students with Disabilities and myself. Peter used many of the design methods he had been taught in his courses to improve the materials. I was so impressed by Peter’s diligence that I encouraged him to be a presenter as well. Peter continued on to be a Student Worker in the Disability Resource Center. His job duties included: database management, spreadsheet design, Qualtrics form creation, working with new students, DRC liaison to Flagler campus, and President of SOCI-ABLES. Peter is one of the most reliable student workers I have had in my 30 years of working in higher education. I have had thousands of students with disabilities and hundreds of student workers and none has been more dedicated to learning, completion of tasks, or the inclusion of students with disabilities into Campus Life. It has been my great pleasure to work with Peter and to recommend him to any position he may apply.”
